I have a favorite wildflower. It is Queen Anne’s Lace! I am delighted they have popped up in my bluebonnet field. I don’t need to play slot machines because I have a North TX prairie to visit.

I decided to make this painting from last week into a diptych – it is fun challenge to piggy back on a painting. I like them to work together and alone. The process reminds me of having really good leftovers in the fridge, the kind of ingredients that easily get reworked into another delightful meal.

My mom sent me so many beautiful wildflower pictures yesterday. She lives four hours south of me, so her bluebonnets are just past their prime, while ours are are not quite there yet. I loved this pic of bluebonnets and a bee tree. The long grass reminds me of a school kid needing a haircut.

“Almost every person, from childhood, has been touched by the untamed beauty of wildflowers.” – Lady Bird Johnson
I took the wild beauty into the hospital today:).
