These are the red hills Georigia O’Keefe made famous.  Geologists call it the Chinle formation.  If you are a paleontologist, it is where you might go to dig for dinosaurs, we visited such a dig with a group of scientists this summer and even found some bones!

I hiked to the top of Pedernal with my family, all the way to the top of that flat blue part on the very tippy top.  The best part is looking back and noting we were all up there!
