3 Pond Triads

I am taking a Kevin Mc Phearson workshop this week. It is delightful. Today we painted with limited color pallets en plein air. All three are oil on linen. 11×14″

Pair of Pears

I love pears, I love to eat them, and arrange them in bowls on my table. I love the way they seem to have hips and body shapes, no two just alike. I painted these because I know I won’t be buying any pears for a while. I will trade the sturdy lunch box fruit of the school year for the tender stone fruits of summer.

I love the changing of the seasons.

Here are my Best/ Least of summer-
Texas: homegrown tomatoes/ chiggers
New Mexico: desert sunsets/ tomatoes

Katharine and Clay

“Mom who is that?”
“My cousin Katharine.”
“The beautiful one?” My son asked.
“Yes.” I answered.
Inside and out beautiful pretty much sums her up.

From the photos my dad and Uncle took, her wedding was lovely too.

Ebbing Afternoon

10×8 pastel on sanded paper.
I created this painting as a commission from a couple of beach photos. The photos were at different times of day, it was fun playing with the possible compositions and colors (thumbnails really are helpful).
